She rang the hospital to see how he was (though why she couldn't ring HIM when he has a bedside phone is beyond me) then declared dramatically and with great relief "He's doing alright... He's eating BREAKFAST!"
I'm waiting for the nurse's station to get caller ID and start screening her calls. :P

Date: 2005-05-19 10:45 am (UTC)I'm sorry but your posts on this whole thing make me laugh uncontrollably.
Not the whole Grandpaternal one being in hospital of course but your reaction to the grandmaternal one's reactions.

Date: 2005-05-19 10:49 am (UTC)See that's the thing. Grandad's FINE. Truth be told he really likes being in the Leicester Royal. The nurses are young and pretty and he gets away with being a flirt because he's very quiet and uncomplaining and placid so he gets all this attention and regular meals in bed and he becomes this whole other funny and talkative person... purely because granny's not there. Cause he's dead silent at home otherwise she shouts at him ^^;
It makes me laugh. He thrives without her and she over-dramatically falls apart without him. Even though she does nothing but shout at him when he's home.
I think he's going to start breaking things on purpose any day now y'know...
