Pulp Novel Challenge - June
Jun. 1st, 2009 07:00 pmOops, nearly forgot these. This month's Pulp Novel challenge seems to have a bit of a theme.
June's Pulp Novel Titles
Sinful Woman
Virtuous Girl
Bad Girl
...uh, and Bad Girl again, because it has two different covers of two different novels, both with the same name. Which probably says something about the imagination of those who wrote pulp fiction back in the day.

Feb's pulp novel fic has been a weird and problematic creature and then this popped out at about 2 o'clock yesterday morning. It's very short, and should probably be classed as the anti-Valentine of vignette fics.

Before I crawl off to bed... January's Pulp Novel challenge fic.

Pulp Novel Challenge - January
Jan. 1st, 2009 11:26 amOK, here's January's pulp novel titles.
One Of The Girls
Passion Slaves *
The Wanton One **
A Taste Of Sin ***
Now I'm going to go eat a bunch of leftovers, take a nice long soak and ponder what fictional thingumyjog can be salvaged from the wreckage of classic pulp.
*They were servants of sin in a world of shame
**She made it her business to get what she wanted... and she never stopped wanting
***A novel of insidious temptation
Sadly 'One Of The Girls' does not have a rediculous tag line

Jan. 1st, 2009 01:17 amHappy new year, flist! it's 2009 and has been for... ooh, a whole hour and a bit. Folks just left and downstairs is littered with party detritus, though sadly not the traditional bamillion party poppers. It just didn't quite happen this time around. K&BW bowed out early and JR fell asleep with the kids so we had a game of 'Articulate' with the remainders, had bubbly at midnight and then slowly drifted away.
I might save the poppers for my birthday instead. Seems a shame to waste them.
BUT! It is a shiny new year and I have a shiny new semi-unofficial resolution.
As you know, my wall calendar for this year contains 4 pulp fiction novel covers a month. It's my resolution to try and write a short story based on one of the novel titles contained on each page. A fic a month, be it fanfic or original or whatever. The aim is to write more. I think it's achieveable.
For those who want to play along I'll post the novel titles at the start of the month and by this time next year I should have 12 tales to show for it.
Well, that's the plan anyway.
*shifty look*
Oh, and the pizza was good. And I'm really, REALLY massively over-full now. *burps at you*
On the other hand, given we were drinking beer rather than wine, I'm not actually that drunk so may for once begin the year without a hangover. That'll be the first time in quite a while.
