The *UG* Song
Aug. 30th, 2004 01:32 pmOne of my PC fans is starting to make an odd, slightly rattly noise.
I think... it might be the CPU fan... cause if the chip's getting a little too warm that would explain why the machine has been acting a little strangely of late.
In other news... Paul, Mags and Dan are over... No Alex this time, I can only assume he stayed home or something, unless he's out cavorting in the back garden and I just didn't see...
So... feeling less actively crappy than this morning, but still feeling kinda slightly crappy in a passive, "I think I'll just sit here and do nothing" kind of a way. I'd like to sleep, but I'm waiting for lunch.
*sits and listens to her fan make faint, insectoid clicky whirry noises*

Date: 2004-08-30 09:23 am (UTC)OK, that and the boywonder has a snotty, disgusting cold already, Kat was thinking she might have caught it from him and me... well I've been hanging around both of them. I'm hoping it buggers off though. Colds suck.

Date: 2004-08-30 06:58 pm (UTC)i oughta know. i ignored mine. fried the processor. lost everything. drug it into work, tore it apart after one last attempt to get it to 'do' something. popped out the chip and promptly melted a hole in the surface of the workbench. it was toast. very very hot toast.
replacement fan/heat sink was a whopping $8. if only i'd taken care of it 'earlier'. of course, the chip was another matter but it was still dirt cheap compared to what i paid for it new. all those lost files, however... grrrr!
