I can't find any socks... I know I have socks, I just bought socks, I remember washing socks... I can't FIND any socks...

And my feet are cold.

You know, I feel oddly like the Prince Regent in that episode of Blackadder...
(Dish and Dishonesty, was it...?) Like someone's sneaking in here while I'm asleep, stealing all of my socks and then selling them off.
Any second now I'll get lynched by a naked Tunisian sock merchant. But only after Baldrick's spent all the money on a giant turnip all of his very own.

AH HAH!

I found one pair of socks that almost match... now to find the other 20 or so that are still missing in action.
But at least I can do it with warner feet.

Mum's been talking about one of her students today... girl's 18 and her father's a total fruitcake control freak. Won't let her buy a car, won't let her move out, won't let her study art (has to study science) goes through her wage slips and bank statements to check she's not wasting money on things...
If she went and bought a car or tried to move out he'd take the keys off her, march her right back down there and demand the money back.
Poor girl's terrified of the guy. Even her friends are petrified of him.
I pointed out to mum that tecnhically 3 of those are criminal offences now she's over 18.
He sounds like a psycho to me. Like one of those controling husbands who won't let their wives leave them.
I hope for her sake she goes to Uni really fucking far from home and never goes back. Then again in her position I'd be hatching plans to do whatever the heck I wanted anyway. Just pop out for 5 minutes one day and that'd be that. Wait till he goes to work, pick up my crap and be gone.
Though I've come to the conclusion that in general terms... I don't understand people.
OK, I understand some people, but in the broader spectrum, I don't understand people.
Like the insurance guy the other day who was at pains to point out to mum that should she some day fall out with her kids then she could change the beneficiary of her insurance... or granny's family who refused to speak to each other for 30 years until one of them died, or parents who seem to be under the impression that their offspring should be grateful their whole lives even though they never actually ASKED to be born...

People are just plain odd.
