Because I'm worth it!
Sep. 9th, 2002 09:11 pmI've been beset by the uber-crap plotline generator brain again. I'm trying to work out how many cliches I can fit into one badly-written theoretical storyline.
Which is a shame because I was hoping to work on some actual writing tonight instead of plunging the depths of fic stereotypes.
Of course it's a rich seam to actually tap into once you get going. It's like that time I got really bored and realised you co do bad sonfics for EVERY track on Nickleback's Silver side up album. In fact you can songfic almost anything if you try hard enough. Insidious, evil curse of the internet that it is.
Wolviemuse: Hey... I remember that. The Theoretical Nickleback bad L/R songfic project. How could anyone forget? You even thought of a setting for "Hollywood" and that one's just plain weird.
LT: It's cause I'm warped.
Wolviemuse: You're not warped, you're evil. You'll have me singing the Beatle's "Oh Darling" to Rogue in a painful karaoke style as the climax of a badly written angst drama next... Just stop that thought right here and now cause I ain't doing it.
LT: Hmmm *coggs whirr* well it does contain referances to never doing her harm and a lot of lines about her telling you she doesn't need you and making you break down... classic L/R angst sonfic fodder... *evil smirk* Yes, yes, I see it now... returning from a long and painful trip to Alkali lake at the end of the first movie you can come back to a changed Rogue... or better yet, have a brief fling with her then do something stupid and out of character to make her hate you and leave you for *insert random other love interest here*. The you can angst for a while and in a totally inexplicable move, decide to declare your feelings in a karaoke style in front of the whole school. Then insert happy ending and there you have it, yet another generic story! Go me!
Wolvie: Excuse me...?
LT: Or alternatively I could make you do a scary dance number like Heath Ledger in 10 things I hate about you...
Wolviemuse: *is speechless*
LT: Aww bless, I think I broke him.
It's a good job I never intend to write any of these innit? ^^;; Who knows what evil I could unleash upon the world.
Wolviemuse: No, you just make me suffer instead. Continually.
