What else did I see today...? Oh yes, I spent all of 5 minutes mentally bitching about the abysmal accents on an ooooold C5 re-run of Wishbone. You rmemeber? Wishbone, the kids program about that little dog who imagines himself taking part in classic works of literature.
Anyway, they were trying to do treasure island and everybody had a damned shoddy excuse for a Cockney accent.
Just because it was set along the south coast... nay even, England in general, does not mean that they all spoke like Cockneys...

They did it on the Simpsons the other night as well, and then you've got that bloke who played Daphne's brother in Frasier... who was meant to be from Manchester but still sounded like a Cockney.
Though then again you've got Daphne herself who actually IS a Cockney, trying to sound like a Mancunian...
Oh, I give up, it's not worth the effort... ^^;; People should stop doing accents without dialect coaching, it's a bad, bad thing in general...
And yes I know that works both ways... you've only got to listen to the English guy who does the KFC adverts to know that. ^^;;
I though of something else to say just now, but I've totally forgotten what it was.
