Oh my goodness... so, you'll never guess what
allende gave me this evening...?
The ticket stub from my first ever viewing of X-Men, waaay waay back in the mists of time. *__*
Boy, blast from the past there. And you know it's all that movie's fault.
;)
Was really nice to see her again though. And I know I say it every time, but we really must do it more often. *hugs*
Plus we worked out that every plot ever is really just Star Wars and we hypothesised the ending to Harry Potter. Or at least how we think it might go. There were several alternatives there so, y'know... if JK's feeling adventurous she can try and incorporate all of them. :D
Or maybe that's just how we'd do it, what with our love of the convoluted storyline...
In other news...
wolvinatrix just sent me a Van Helsing pic. O_O Dunno where she dredged it up from but wheeeee!

I will never survive the publicity surrounding this film... :D
Mmmmmmm... gloomy...
-------
Unrelatedly, mum has decided that we should really organise some carol singing type festivities next year. We had a card today from one of mum';s old work collegues who used to organise the best carroling nights. Wander round and sing for a few hours then go back for mince pies and mulled wine... *happy sigh*
Sadly, said collegue hasn't organised one in a while as she's been too intent on drumming up New Year parties (which always clash with our own) so it's been a little sad without them.
We figure it'd be a nice thing to try for next year as it's puhing a little too close to last-minute to do it right now.
Mum's also trying to blackmail/bribe/nag/guilt people into comeing to Midnight Mass with her.
That's slightly more of a sticking point for the family, as JR's not actually catholic and I'm so, SO lapsed it's just right on out into "just call me spiritual".
I will admit, there is something undeniably seasonable about midnight mass and the candle light carol service, but in that same breath... eeuh, it's been so long since I went to church and I'm not exactly eager to go back.
The need for festivity battles with intense apathy and even a hint of irritation. Granny maintains mum, the boywonder and I "fell out with God" over the death of my father. Well that's a big loada' crap right there. What happened was that we all ended up with better things to do on our Sundays than go to church. Like, you know... sleeping in.
She doesn't like that, she figures if you want to you can always make time for church. I'm like... really... no.
Plus I don't actually want to.
But anyway, I derailed my own train of thought there...
Yeah, I think if it was JUST a carol service I'd go, but to be honest I really can't be bothered to sit through a whole mass in a church I no longer attend with all the inherant dogma I don't really believe in.
In other words... I feel like christmas carols, but can we leave the religion out of the Holiday season...?
