Mail, Moving and Matrix
Nov. 21st, 2003 09:05 pmOhh, so I picked up my undelivered package and have now got a copy of the unbelieveably amazing (and laminated to be wipe-clean after licking) Hugh portrait done by
stir_of_echoes.
Then as if that wasn't yummy enough in and of itself, she then went and posted another one which you can see here because the woman apparently has no end to her talents... :D
Hm, what else...
Granny was rearranging furniture so I spent the morning shuffling book cases and chairs around. Ohh the fun. Ohh my spine. Then this afternoon was spent watching Matrix Revolutions.
Hm, say I.
*eh*
It's not really spoilery so I'll post it here without cutting, but basically there was some slightly dodgy dialogue that reminded me of attack of the clones, Charlie's mum insisted that it was needlessly messianic (like you couldn't have got that from Reloaded), Rachie said at least she didn't fall asleep in the middle of it like she did with the last one and I still say... *eh*
I mean it had some good bits, don't get me wrong. The effects were superb and there's a whole new gravitational twist on the lobby sequence from the first movie (though not quite as cool, IMHO) and really, again, some very, VERY nice-looking special effects... but the plot was, in places, a little garbled (but then I wasn't paying attention though much of Reloaded so I sort of took a while to get back up to speed again) and sadly special effects do not a complete movie make...
The ending did not satisfy my hunger for a definite resolution, but then I guess that's just my personal feeling on the matter. It ends probably as it should do and anything else would have been accused of unlikeliness.
That's all, really. The folks will be going to see it Sunday and I think I'll stay home. Like Reloaded, it was ok but really not as god as it could or should have been.

Date: 2003-11-21 04:32 pm (UTC)I'm always just to totally blown away by your portrait ability. Really, they're just... wow.
I had a lot of fun this afternoon disturbing Charlie though... Telling her that the prints you just sent were specially drool-proof laminated for ease of licking and simple wipe-clean surface protection.
She gave me a very, very odd look. ;)

Apparently she just doesn't get the WolverHugh love... it's kinda' sad. Her mind's been addled by hobbit infatuation.

hee! We would make a good team if we started a production line, as you've finished each torso you could slide it along and I could add the head *g*
