Speculating the globe
Nov. 20th, 2003 09:19 pm'Nother hair wash, 'nother success for the dye... Colour me impressed. [/bad pun]
On that topic though, I got stopped by this woman in Safeways earlier, desperate to know what dye I was using because she was having purple highlights put in and really wanted that EXACT colour...
She got really despondant when I told her you couldn't GET this colour in the UK, now mother thinks I should start an import business and ship in all the weird stuff I find oddly fascinating yet is totally commonplace to American people...
Like Cinnamon flavoured gum and tic-tacs and hairdye and stuff.
People keep stealing what's left of my cinnamon gum y'know. Must remmeber to pick up more when next in America... Cause it's weird what people seem to want. You'd have thought that the confectionary companies would have noticed that there's a gap for the cinnamon-flavoured treat in the UK but apparently no...
Heh, maybe I should just travel the globe finding bizarre yet everyday things to import... :D

Date: 2003-11-20 01:37 pm (UTC)Do you think it would be easier to post this stuff to Bro-T via Kat to bring to you, or better to just post to you directly?

Date: 2003-11-20 01:45 pm (UTC)John's gonna' have his hands full transporting all of Kat's stuff back here as it is without having to add hairdye into that... :S
Uh, gum, I did have Big Red, but that's cause it was the closest to hand at the time I picked it up. I'm open to variety but you really don't need to worry. I can live without cinnamon gum, seriously. ;) It's part of what makes flying trans-atlantic so entertaining... aquiring gum and commenting on the peculiarity of it. :D
Yes, I know... I'm weird...
And thank you again so much for getting the dye for me. You'll have to tell me how that blue works out, cause getting any sense of permenance from blue is always an adventure. :)

Date: 2003-11-20 01:56 pm (UTC)Ahh, cool. I think the violet would look nice, especially over a blue-tinted base already...
They had a plethora of pink, fuschia, turquoise and green- apparently no one else likes those too much.
You surprise me...
OK, I can understand the green because you do run the risk of looking a bit like a lawn if you're not careful, but the pinks and fuschias are among the most popular colours here.
Black and shocking pink is like standard teenie-goth colour. They must get through gallons of the stuff.
Just cinnamon gum, or cinnamon candy as well?
Uhhh...? Surprise me?
I've only ever tried the gum and cinnamon tictacs so it's all a mad blank canvas...
Cause we only get minty. Oh and tangerine/lime tictacs... we get a lot of those...
