Cramping my style as well as my fingers

lady_t_220Been drawing today. The last part in the set of 3 I promised my mother would replace the horse above the fireplace that I painted when I was 12.
Only I had a slight... uh... random creative urge so I've bumped up the size a little.
By about... ohh... 4 times...
Boywonder came in earlier, wanted to know what I was doing. Drawing, said I. Only it's taking a really. Long. Fucking. Time.
For example, I said, it's taken me the entirety of Queen's Greatest Hits II just to get the outline right. It's taken me the entirety of Queen's Greatest Hits I and half of AFI's Sing the Sorrw to get about... ooh, a fifth of the shading completed. All in all... this may take some time.
Hmm, says he, but if it's taking that long at least you can be sure of one thing. That you're learning something from it.
Yes, says I. That it's a whole lot easier drawing these fucking things on A4 than it is on A2.
He nodded sagely and agreed, for there really is no denying the truth.
Only a few other things have occured to me since then. One, that my legs are cramping up from sitting with the sketchbook on my lap, and 2, that my hand is cramping up due to my obsession with shading using a propelling pencil... on A2.
Yes, I'm aware that I'm stupid.
I think the only other coherant thought I've managed so far was "Hang on a minute... this is going to be like 4 times too big to fit into my scanner. Does this mean I'll have to photograph the darn thing instead?"
All the rest has been mush.
I hate photographing pencil... I mean really, my scanner has a hard enough time with it already, I dread to think hos a photo'll turn out... O_o
