Fuck.
Me.

OW!

From the Manic Panic website's shipping T&C:

For International Shipments, an additional $20.00 charge will be added to your selected delivery option. Customers are responsible for all tariffs, duties and custom's taxes.

Beside the misuse of that last apostrophe, I can only say... Twenty?? O_o

Uhh.... TWENTY...???

And it's an additional twenty at that.

Oh that's so totally not cool for the one-off purchaser.
Actually, it's gotta' be said some of their postage rates are kind of ouchy IMHO, unless you're spending over a certain amount from within the US or if you're just generally bulk-buying

Man, cause I love their gel formula purple haze dye and everything, but with all that shipping plus customs added in, it's loony paying the thick end of $40 to buy one bottle. To even make that kind of shipping charge worthwhile you'd have to buy like a crate of stuff at a time.

*sheesh*

Mental note... next time in NYC, track down the damn store and purchase in person.

Take extra luggage for cosmetic-haulage purposes

Have it shipped to me and I'll send it on. ;)

Well that too... ;)

*smooches you*

But really though... sux to be an international buyer if you don't have native associates.

That's why it's good that you have a "local buyer." ;) And I feel the same way about you. *smooch*

Unless it gets here before Sunday, forget it. Monday it's no more choccy for me, Cadbury or otherwise!

Ohh, Atkins... I almost forgot.

Hmm... will have to send you something different to the norm for Christmas this year... :D

ARGH! You're killing me and the diet hasn't even started yet, you evil, evil woman! No Christmas Choccy! [wails]

[sniff] I shall persevere! Maybe choccy for next Christmas. ;)

No, I meant something different to the normal choccy. As in something inedible and Atkins-friendly. ;)

I'm not THAT evil. Despite what people think. :D

LOL, I know you meant something other than choccy, but you were just reminding me of how you usually send me loads of goodies at Chrimbo. ;)

I'm still gonna miss it. ;)

Awwwwww...

You'll have to let me know if there's anything else you want instead. :)

I trust your judgement. But since I don't have a doggie to torment anymore, something like Harry the Hamster should be right out. ;)

Books are always good. Paperback books, because they're not as expensive to ship. ;)

Hmmmmmm... *strokes chin in thought*

OK, I have a couple of ideas but I'm not sure if you've got them already...

If I could actually SEE the books I had, I could tell you the Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman books I have. ;)

Then there are always minimates. I don't have ANY of those... :D

You know, we really could talk on YM...

I emailed them to find out who sells the gels locally. If I find some around here I'll send them over to you if you'd like.

*checks email for manic panic's reply*
Hurry it up already!

Kickass!
You'll have to let me know what you want in return though.
I can totally hook you up with chocolate or whatever other British exports you may be requiring...

I promised Deke I'd co-Atkins with her, so you're safe on the chocolate front. I'll come up with something....[evil laugh]

*raises an eyebrow*

Dude, that sounds totally ominous...

Ohh, though I DO know what order the Pratchett books go in and the UK editions have the really nice Kriby covers. :D

*drools over the tiger lily orange* That looks very interesting. I will look online, and mention it to my friend who knows about these things (and more people to ask.)

*nods*

The cream formula in the pots I KNOW you can get here, though getting it has proven troublesome around Leicester. The gel formula in the bottles though, I'm really not so sure about.

Doesn't Black Rose in Camden stock that stuff? Failing that, have you tried Hot Topic's web shop? *thinks* There must be somewhere that doesn't rip you off for shipping.

Soz for the brevity, I'm feeling pretty flat tonight. :

No problem.

I'm sure they probably do but you know I like a good whine about the trivialities in life.
But it looks like I can strike up trade agreements with the natives so it should hopefully work out either way. ;)
