In other news, mum is strenuously trying to prevent John from donating his spare time to helping Glasshouse with their PA setup "On the understanding that on profitable gigs, they'll pay him what they can"
Which basically translates to "We won't pay you at all, but we'll pretend like we could just to make everyone feel better"
John says he doesn't mind. Mum says he bloody well should. I said I had mercenary sensibilities and that I personally wouldn't do it but if he felt like he wanted to then, eh, whatever.
Mum calls it a Leicestershire personality trait. Lovely, lovely people, but if they can get something for nothing by whatever means they can, they'll probably do it.
In other words, they're cheap, though this is something we all already knew.


I have a really stiff neck today. I dunno what I've been doing to myself. I think I musta' slept funny... either that or I was involved in a car accident in my sleep and have given myself nocturnal whiplash.
I need that massage fairy, that's what. Someone to pummel the kinks out of me in his oh-so-unique way.
Either that or a neck rub would go down well...

Hey, I started working for Slick Machine for free, then, as I started doing MORE stuff for them (posters, putting UP said posters, doing the newsletter, etc) I got paid for my weekend gigs, and for the extra stuff besides. I was pulling in $80-100/weekend...until it all came crashing down when I decided I couldn't hang with the philandering and being forced to lie about it. But that's a fish of a different color...
