Back... and wow, I have just like a skull-fracturingly unpleasant headache, but besides that I had a pretty good time.
Never managed to see an anime on the big screen before and hoo, it was SO worth it. Spirited Away rocks. Go see it. Even a non anime-lovin' peep like me enjoyed it, so yeah...
Now... head is pounding. Haven't decided if I'm gonna' go to Leicester tomorrow or not. I'm thinking I might if only to pick up my comics and say hi to freaky hair guy.

That's Spirit of the... uh... somthing something. Different movie.
Spirited Away is an anime about this girl who ends up getting trapped in the spirit realm. Her parents get turned into pigs and she has to figure out a way to rescue them without getting turned into an animal herself. It's really, really good... There's dragons and water spirits and witches and the cutest damn soot-spiders and a really fat mouse... It's both cool and funny all at once. ;)

Date: 2003-10-11 06:35 pm (UTC)They're not "spiders", they're soot-SPIRITS. They work down in the heating plant for a guy who kinda looks like a spider in the fact that he has 4 really long arms. He kinda repulsed me at first, but the English dub has him played by David Ogden Stiers, and I could never be scared of him. ;)
It really IS an intriguing movie, but be prepared for a lot of it being non-cutsey, non-fluffy. I fear for Japanese children's psyches. ;)
