Sep. 1st, 2002 10:25 amDear God, I feel so much better this morning...
Testament to how bad I felt last night, I was in bed by 11, asleep by 20 past, awake again at 1 because I was still in pain, (when I also discovered that I couldn't quite walk in a straight line either,) and asleep again about an hour later.
Only just got up... ^^;
Still... as promised, more about yesterday.
The space centre was kinda' fun. Mostly geared towards kids as you'd expect, but darnit, buttons are Soooo much fun to press...
C's sister bought us all little plushie spacemen, and we christened them all Bob. Mine's Bob 42. Rachie's is Bob 666. They need the numbers to tell each other apart.
We did manage to disturb a few small children with them, that's for sure. Never let people like us wander round interactive displays with little plushie spacemen.
There was one display that had a mock-up of Saturn in a bathtub (No, I DON'T know why) complete with rubber duckie.
The Bobs had an imprompute pool party on the fake blue plastic water, which seemed to greatly upset a small girl who was wandering past.
C's mum told her very seriously that it was OK... see, you don't have to grow up...
The SETI "Space theatre" (Sort of like a planetarium, but not quite) was pretty cool too. Voiced by Hugh Laurie of all people.
Charlie's mum decided that the hypothetical alien they designed to explain why they might have certain features in common with us, it had to be an egg-layer because it had a really fricking huge head.
It also had a duckie butt, but that's a whole other world of odd.
After that it was back to C's place for food, drink, cake and far too many fricking re-runs of Escaflowne.
I'm thinking it might have been that that kick-started my headache. Dehydration and Escaflowne...
I gotta' say, I don't get Rachie's obsession with Van... or his brother who's name I have forgotten. They're both pretty *eh* IMHO and they all have really bloody pointy noses.
I mean, not just anime pointy, these are verging on snout terratory.
But enough of that... I'm gonna' go say hello to the rest of the household seeing as I didn't see any of them last night. They all got home after I went to bed, which was a good thing cause I wasn't in any kind of a state to tell them about my day... ^^;

Date: 2002-09-01 04:58 pm (UTC)That's because Saturn has a lower density than water, therefore, if you could find a bathtub big enough (don't even bother looking at Home Depot,) it would float.
I sure hope you guys took pictures of the Bobs in the grand Traveling Wolvie tradition!
And Hugh Laurie has an egg-shaped head and a ducky butt? Must have changed since I've seen him last. ;)
