I want to ride my by-see-cuuuuulllll
Oct. 3rd, 2003 03:22 pm*staggers in gasping for air*
Christ in crotchless panties...
There was a day, not so very long ago, where I could be out on my bike for 2... 3... 4 hours at a time and still be ready and raring to go.
I been out half an hour.
On the flat-ish bits.
I think I'm going to die.
I feel so unfit! *wails* I mean I'm not THAT unfit, a year at the hotel saw to it that, so far as cardiovascular well-being goes, I really wasn't too badly off. But you're only ever completely fit enough to do thing things you do all the time, so carrying armfuls of laundry up and down 40 billion stairs every day... that I can do without even breaking a sweat.
Apparently that's about all I can do though. *yikes*
OK, so current resolution. As I don't get anywhere near any kind of excercise working at G's I really AM going to drag the bike out as often as possible and try to build up my stamina again. My jeans have started getting snug because when I'm at home all the time I tend to bake. And baking leads to cake which leads to eating too much.
Which all adds up to unshakeable rotundness.
*nods resolutely*
(yeah, though... gimmie till the really cold wet weather kicks in and I'm so gonna' go off this idea...)
I do feel a little better though, as the boywonder (the fittest among us by far) was also a little taken aback by how much harder it was to get back to the distances he used to ride after so many years of not cycling.
He reckons it must be 4-5 years since we regularly went anywhere. I'd guess he's about right.
And now I'm off to flake about somewhere. Cycling makes my knees wobbly.
Oh, and the boywonder wante to got to Nottingham tomorrow. Have to phone Char and see if she's interested. She was going to show me the t-shirt place she found.
I need new shirts.
