Fic an' stuff
Sep. 25th, 2003 09:40 pmGot sidetracked reading fic on a site I'd not stumbled across before and when I glanced at the clock I'd lost 4 hours.
No wonder I'm feeling fuzzy-headed and more than mildly incoherant. ^^;;
*got lost in fic-dom*
Link is Here BTW, found through
just_like_rogue's journal. Mostly L/R with both an L/J and a Lo/Ro exception.
My IE has a spasm with the site layout though. It'd load ok for a second then suddenly go insane and I'd get a lot of weird things happening, like having
one
word
per
line
for
an
entire
fic.
It was better through Netscape ironically, (and there's something no one ever through they'd hear anyone say) though some of the longer stories forced me go into the source code and do a lot of copying and pasting because the text was overlapping.
I have NO idea what browser the site was designed for, or indeed if it's just my IE that's insane. (Still on 5.5 though, it must be said, because 6 does not like my computer) but either way...
Definitely enjoyed wallowing in the fic, but the site was problematic for me.
I'm a firm believer in using the simplest code for the job. It comes about through 4 years of intermittent and cranky dial-ups, insane, non-functional browsers and a deep loathing for any site that makes you load a plug-in just to see the menus. :D
We solved the dial-up issue with cable, but the browsers still play games from time to time.
I guess I'm just old fashioned that way. ;)
