lady_t_220I remember the days when spam used to have coherant subject lines instead of strings of random letters and numbers strewn around through a vague approximation of words, conveyed in a sort of L33T-ish, SMS style incoherant garbled mess.
Advertising literacy is dead. There was an add somewhere in one of the local papers that had all its apostrophes in the wrong places... *sighs*
Talking of the local paper though, my mother seems to have made the headlines of the Echo. Due to her stance on Home Education, her deep-seated need to tell the universe about it and her love of a beleagured cause, she's managed to drag a 15 year old agoraphobic's tale of school-related woes into the headlines yet again. (Second time so far)
Usual thing, you know, kid's been out of school for a year cause he can't leave the house and the LEA were trying to prosecute for severe truancy because... well... they're unsympathetic bastards really.
Of course now he's been de-registered the LEA can't do a damned thing, and if they object you know what'll happen...
Yup, the maternal unit has the local press in her proverbial pocket, because for some ungodly reason the local paper really likes my mother... and my grandmoher come to that. They get more column inches between them than anyone else in this town, apart from maybe Mrs P, the unnaturally vocal complaints comission for the residential area near the university.
(Students are bad, no more students, they have parties and drive unpleasantly crappy cars and get drunk and throw up in my hedge...)
Random aside, I went to the same school as her son - He did an unnervingly good Elvis impression for a 12 year old and would almost have counted as my first crush if I didn't know he was capable of being such a dork. But this is beside the point.
So what else is going on in the world...?
Ah, big fat nuttin' I fear... But Jackmans landing finally managed to update today with pictures! Oooooooo... :D
