OK... I don't know if this will make things better or worse or what... but let's get a few things straight before anything gets out of hand... or more out of hand... or whatever.
I really, really, REALLY don't follow the politics of anything at all in this fandom so, bear with me here...

Prepare for a BIG DISCLAIMER

In answer to concerns raised in response to THIS recent post (ie, the Kat and LT show, an insight into the shit we talk) I would like to make a few things clear to anyone who may be reading who takes any or all of the junk I post the wrong way.
I am doing this mostly for the sake of some long-time friends who have received abuse about the contents of my journal and things that katduza and I have posted online. I would like to take a moment to refocus any anger or blame away from them and back to where it actually belongs. Right here with katduza and myself.

One: Neither katduza nor myself are members of WRBeta or the WRFA. We are not members of ANY L/R fic groups. We have nothing to do with them, we're just a little duet unto ourselves hovering on the fringes of society.
If you or anyone else has an issue with any of the stuff we say, direct your complaints at us please, cause we got NOTHING to do with anyone else.

Two: We are not trying to cause offence. If we offend you, then we are both sorry, but this is my LJ and I'm afraid that I do reserve the right to post the things that I find funny. Yes I have an odd sense of humour. Consider it a Colonial thing I guess but it was never, and will never be intented as a personal dig at any group or individual. If it was taken that way, we both apologise.

Three: I LIKE W/R fic. I read it, I write it myself when the fancy strikes me. In response to anyone I offended by mentioning your story in that post, you can rest assured that I DID read your fic and actually rather enjoyed them once I stopped sitting around and grousing.
I just go through moments of dissilusionment from time to time. I do it with everything I do, from art, to TV to movies to books, to music... on this occasion it was fic.

Four: katduza and I have silly, silly, silly moments. They happen when we've been talking for almost 6 hours and we're both more than a little sleep-deprived, caffine hyped and generally all around wired. We're not intentionally out to upset anyone. We just talk crap amongst ourselves. Maybe we should probably keep it there, but I don't think either of us ever considered ourselves to be important enough to actually offend anyone with our idle wafflings. I posted them here because I can, because I wanted to, and because I thought it was amusing to more than just me. I honestly didn't think anyone was bothered enough with us to actually care. If we were wrong, then we apologise for upseting anyone.
I would go back and add a disclaiming edit to the post itself but LJ is giving me syntax error messages whenever I try and edit that entry so, I'm posting it here instead.

Five: There is no specific reason this conversation revolved around L/R other than that's the archive I happened to be in at the time. If I'd been elsewhere it would have happened about L/J, Lo/Ro, Wolvie/Jubes or whatever the heck other pairing archives I cruise through almost every single day.

Six: Apparently unknown to us, the Drinking Game we wrote caused somewhat of a stir in circles alien to either of us. As no one actually complained directly to us we can only claim total ignorance as to what actually happened, but let's get a few things cleared up about that too while I'm disclaiming stuff

It was a drinking game. It was intended as nothing but comedy. A stupid little vignette we wrote to pass the time on a boring afternoon.
katduza and I are avid readers of virtually every pairing and this was written with the intention that it applied to EVERY arm of X-men fandom, not just L/R
Yes, it delves into a lot of cliches. Cliches both katduza and myself have used in our own writing. It was intended as an affectionate look at the idiosyncratic nature of this fandom. It was not directed at any specific pairing, and when we wrote it we tried to ensure that as much as we could make it was generic enough to cover L/J, Lo/Ro, Wolvie/Jubes, most PWP slash and anything else involving Wolverine that we've read or that you may choose to apply it to.
It was there to take a little joke at the mainstays of Wolvie-based fanfic. Considering that most of the feedback we got was positive we assumed that people got the joke.
Apparently some people didn't. If that was the case then I'm sorry afraid I don't know what to do to change that.


Finally, if we've caused trouble or offence to anyone, then please accept our apologies. It was never our intent. If anyone (and I really mean anyone because have no freaking clue who most of you are and I honestly do have nothing to do with anything) wish to use the contents of my journal to cause disruption or harassment to anyone else then, for the love of God, correct them, point them at katduza or myself, point them at this post. I don't know. If they want to spit vitriol they can spit it at us directly cause it has nothing to do with anyone else. These are my opinions because this is my journal. Please don't blame anyone but us if you feel upset or offended by the things we say.

For the record I say again, I'm not a member of WRBeta. I'm not a member of WRFA. I'm not a mamber of ANY L/R related fic groups in fact. Do no consider my journal indicative of any of the people who are members of any such group.
I don't know what else to say that will put across my point. katduza and I are a an unafilliated entity in any fandom politics.

We are, by all accounts, writing stupid vignettes for shits and giggles, as it were. We don't especially want to offend anyone but in that same breath, this is MY journal. I am not prepared to censor the contents of it just in case I upset people. We may not have a written constitution as such, but the importance of free speech is just as great in this country.

That said, if we have caused offence or pain to anyone with our actions then we really are truly sorry. Know that it was meant in jest and immature humour only, not as an attack to any individual, group, afilliation, sexual persuasion, fandom, pairing, orientation, foot size or blood-type.

*gives big, squooshy hugs* Don't worry about these people, sweetness. It's a shame that these folks feel the need to give your friends a hard time about something that is clearly your opinion, but it's an even bigger shame that they can't take the time to sit back and laugh at themselves. I certainly did ... half the fun in reading your "Drinking Game" was realizing that I'd been guilty of a few myself. ;-) LOL!

But pffffft on people giving you grief. Some folks had their senses of humor shot off in the war. ;-)
