Oh, that don't feel good...
Aug. 10th, 2003 09:24 pmStomach is not a happy thing this evening. I think it's objecting to having had pork for dinner two days in a row. *makes faces*
Damn pork, how you betray me...
So mum phoned from Manchester, a mere 3 hours later than she intended. She made an unfortunate train decision apparently, catching the one that went via Nottingham as opposed to the one ten minutes later that went via Derby... as apparently she got to Nottingham to make the relevant connection from there and discovered that all trains going in that direction were cancelled.
D'oh!
So they did the usual train-subcontracted-bus-service thing to somewhere else (going by a multitude small towns on the way) before she was able to make an alternative connection.
*shakes head*
Hoo boy... and I thought the trains were funky from Leicester the other day. At least almost all the Northbound trains go through L'borough, it doesn't matter if they're all running half an hour late. Sadly the same cannot be said for Manchester.
But she's there now anyway and will be back some time tomorrow, whenever she manages to negotiate the evening rail chaos.
Fun...
Random thought of the day: Will someone please explain to me my sudden and random fascination with the sport caps on water bottles? I don't quite get why I'm obsessed by them so. Maybe it's the intrigue of drinking essentially very boring water in a slightly less-boring way? Maybe I'm just a fruitcake? Who can say...?
