Even the slackers have better jobs than me, how unfair is that?

Went home via town today, cause I had to pick up a good-sized photo frame, and ended up bumping into a girl I want to college with.
allende, you remember Aniella? Used to do Marlene Detreich impressions in English class and was planning to join the navy?

Well... she's an accountant.

*dies laughing*

Navy... to accountant...

Anyway, she works for an NYC-based company but is, at present, working out of the regional office that just happens to be 5 minutes further down the road from where I work. In fact she LIVES almost directly behind the hotel, to the point where she was complaining that one of the lads likes to stare into her house from his hotel room.

I told her to feel free to swear at him, or if all else fails demand to see Tom and punch him in the face. Whatever works better.


Of course now I have to wonder why, when she got 2 C's at A-Level and was, it has to be said, pretty shite at maths, how come she's working as an accountant? Indeed, how did she even get that job in the first place?
It shall evidently remain one of the unexplained mysteries of the world...

And now it's half past 2 and I've still not had any lunch. I really need to go and eat something.

Ah, that is the great misconception. One does not have to be good at math to be good at accounting. See, we use these little devices called "calculators" that help us short-cut through the math of the job. ;-)

Abacus? No. I believe before calculators, we simply had several small piles of beans on our desks. You know, for bean counting. *snerk*

Well, there's your mistake. Never use beans that you're tempted to eat. That's why I always use green beans. :-P

Well, I wasn't around to know the results of her exams but to be honest she certainly struck me as dull enough to be an accountant. XD
