Scattershot
Jul. 13th, 2003 03:06 pmIt's a scattered LJ entry, this one. Partly cause, being hot, we all started drinking over lunch and it's taking a while to wear off.
Really... a long while.
The boywonder and Richard are hacking apart the kitchen so we can fit mum's new big-assed cooker in there. It's making a lot of noise, all that banginging and sawing, and they don't seem to be getting very far considering how long they've been at it. I think they just like making a lot of noise, personally. I'm not totally convinved either of them should be in charge of power tools, but telling them that results in a series of grunts, so I gave up.
Went and did the grocery shopping earlier, the maternal unit deeply grateful that I'd finally finish reading OotP because now she can talk freely about her theological based theories for what's going to happen next. I told her I found GOF deeply boring in places and she seemed rather surprised because she found it had fewer boring patches then OotP. *shrugs* Guess I can live with Harry being cranky the whole time better than I can live with a dragging plot. She on the other hand, isn't good with stroppy teens. (As I know well from my own adolescence)
Came back from the store with just about enough fruit to supply a jam factory. I think mum went a little overboard, but hey, can't complain. Means I get to gorge myself on strawberries without any stupid guilt about sharng them getting in the way. Guilt sucks, especially when it involves fruit.
I need to dye my hair again today but... ehhhhh... it's like the hottest day of the year so far, I can't quite work up the energy. I really am crap when it gets hot. (cause y'all hadn't guessed that bit already. The whinging and flaking around didn't give it away or anything)
Wow, I just found one of the worst colour schemes for a long while... dark, dark red on black. Cause that's not hard to read or anything. O_o
*eyes melt*

Date: 2003-07-13 01:59 pm (UTC)I found GoF to be pretty drawn-out and dull in places as well. Haven't finished OotP *yet* but on the whole I'm finding it far more compelling then GoF. Maybe GoF is one of those books that's better the second time through...
