Things pictorial
Jun. 19th, 2003 11:02 pmWhat have they done to my poor, poor Woobie...? *whines*
Man, that's ugly.
Naked... but ugly
Feeling a little better now. Had hot buttered toast and rational conversation with the boywonder. I was telling him the vague outline to the plot of Sweeny Todd and he was getting surprisingly excited about the prospect of Hugh maybe possibly being in-it-if-they-ever-make-it-and-he's-not-otherwise-engaged.
Which was, y'know, a little odd given his general adverse reaction to things that involve the terms "musical" and "that Australian bloke" in connection with each other, but apparently you never can tell.
I'm not convinced he realises that Todd is a musical... but then again maybe he was just more excited by the idea of a homicidal and cannibalistic musical than, say, gay Australian composers or yet another chorus of Oh what a beautiful morning...
Not that I can blame him on the latter, I have to be in a specific mood to want to watch Oklahoma all the way through. Othewise I'll just skip to the auction scene, Laurie's dream and the part where Hugh takes his shirt off again... ;p
Or sometimes just the "it's all about sex" vox pop, cause it makes me laugh.
Discovered a copy of last month's Total Film mag kicking around downstairs. It had a chunk about that Schumacher version of Phantom in it.
Here we go, lemme find the quote...
--Latest whispers? Webber will produce himself with Schumacher ensconced in the director's chair. Hugh Jackman and Katie Holmes are said to be warming up their vocal chords.--
To which I say it's amazing how fast these mags go out of date. This is the June issue so, technically it's last month's, but still I thought that Hugh/Phantom thing had long ago been put to rest along with all the other idle conjecture about who's playing what in that darned movie.
Anyway, they seem to have finally settled on a principal cast and, unsurprisingly, it's none of the people the rumour mill were so happily churning out. ;)
Oh, and lastly, my random moment of amusement for the day... ganked from Total Film's X2 review page.

Date: 2003-06-19 11:34 pm (UTC)Basic gist... we had a CC and no one else showed up (!) ... we ended up having some verrrry long rambling conversations... they were quite convoluted... gee, what COULD have inspired that dream? heh.

Date: 2003-06-20 03:19 am (UTC)I used to have a little blankie which I called my Woobie.
As to what they've done to him... apparently, they've made a tree grow out of his back...
