The very pinnacle of existence
Jun. 9th, 2003 03:33 pmSo, finally persuaded the maternal unit that she actually is far too ill to go to work.
Heck, she gets woozy just sitting on the couch, I wouldn't trust her behind the wheel of a car. O_o
She was bound and determind to go in this morning, but one of her collegues called to tell her to stay home cause she looked like crap on Friday. Good job too, the maternal unit's not very good at being ill.
Mostly she just doesn't like it, but she refuses to actually LET herself be ill when she really is, and as a result she ends up worse than if she'd just stayed in bed in the first place.
She was quite chipper yesterday, though just doing the grocery shopping pretty much wiped her out for the rest of the afternoon. Today she's mostly been asleep which is probably the best thing in all honesty.
She all like "I have antibiotics now, I should be feeling BETTER..."
Yes, antibiotics that you've only been taking for 2 and a half days. At least you don't sound like a lung cancer patient any more. Now go the hell back to bed!
So enough of that... work was pretty easy. Did a lot of odd jobs on the most part. The Dyson hoover's packed in though so we're suffering a spate of linty carpets. At best we really need 3 hoovers. We usually make do with 2. Right now we have 1 really crap one...
*sighs* I have nothing else to say really. Things are, as always, the very height of excitement round here.
Booked my time off work today. Got just a little over 2 weeks booked even though I'm only in NYC for 10 days, but I need time to try and de-jetlag at least a little after I get back otherwise I will never survive.
Hmm... I have nothing else to do today now.
I think I'll either try and write or else maybe I'll go monopolise the DVD player for a while.
