Oh.

Just Oh.

Just Oh My GOD...

Just Oh My GOD... *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...*

We came, we saw, we X2'd

In fact we came, we saw, we X2'd, then we came out, looked at each other and went right back in to see it again.

[KAT: Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee *thump* BAMF!]

Multiple BAMF in fact.

Oh and Deke... No worries... no puppies were hurt at all at any point in this film.

OK, first off The opening scene. Music and bamfing... Oh my lord... damn good. Though we'd like to know why Nightcrawler was sniffing the president...

Kurt: I love the smell of politics in the morning...

All the fight scenes were just really REALLY well done. Shiny and whirly, the wires put to good effect to make some of it seriously vicious not just Matrixy. You don't look at it and think Matrix you look at it and think ow... that really hadta' HURT...

Scott's scenes were a little squished and minimal but he did actually come across as having emotions. This is a good thing. A really good thing. I'm finding myself actually quite liking him here for some reason. Halle I still do want to throttle every now and then but Scott's almost growing on me.

Oh and... there was blubbing...
There was blubbing that will inspire much ficcing and we have to say... we were pretty damned surprised by the ending. Whoever woulda' thought they'd kill off Jean...?
Well, ok, with LOTS of space for a Phoenix sequel, but yeah... THEY CRIED...
Well ok Wolvie had a manly lip tremble and watery face but yeah. just orgasm-inducingly good

Magneto we love. He came across as having some genuine evil in him in places instead of just a sarcastic bent and a bit of power lust. Nicely done... like he'd become a lot more bitter and malicious during his prison stay.

Wolvie gets to kick much arse in a fantastic Wolvie manner. Though he did once again get his butt handed to him by a chick. Thankfully he doesn't fight 'em too often.

Moral of the tale... too much iron = really not good.

Mystique... we like how she was much more rounded and developed. She comes across as being a lot more deadly, not just malicious. She was also a more interesting person all around in this one. She was put to good effect in lots of ways and this time wasn't just a piece of blue scaly scenery.

Stryker... you just HAVE to hate him. These are all substantially more 3D characters and it makes the whole film much better put together. It's a very fast 2 hours, it positively sails by. I don't remember the attention really sagging at any point with maybe the exception of Professor X staring at the lights in Cerebro with the lil' girl. Maybe some of that went on maybe longer than needed, but maybe that's also just cause it had no Wolvie in it. ;)

The flight scene... X-Jet Vs fighter jets - AWESOM... Storm using her powers in this one was really very cool. She came across as having some personality for a change, and a willingness to use her powers to blast people out of the sky.

Colossus - Very good. we like him. And for a first timer we were also deeply impressed with his performance. The lil' cartoon was cute too. ;)

Ohhhhhhhh... and the Wolvie Uniform... fits just SO much better.
The primal scream. Christ on a stick... *withers and dies* Though... too much backlighting. just TOO much backlighting. ;)
We need more naked Wolverhughs.

Kurt... wow, he was fantastic. I must admit I was a little concerned about the accent but it actually turned out very well.
His character was just spot-on... the right mix of the tragic and the comic.

Oh and what in the HELL was that shirt of Wolvie's about...? That last shirt. Right at the end... That was a BAD BAAAD shirt. XD

Stuff we liked:

Jean and the Phoenix thing. WooHoo! That's just screaming for a sequel.
Wolvie throws down his dogtags, that was a nice conclusion.
The fight with Lady Deathstrike, oooh that was fun. Especially getting stabbed from underneath.
Bezerker rage in the kitchen... heeeeeee
Wolvie and his cellphone... just too darned cute. ;)
Magneto obliterates his prison cell, that was COOOOOOOL...
Mags and Mystique snickering at Rogue... that was funny. ;)
And lastly, the infamous tent scene... *droool thump die*
Though we've come to the conclusion that he definitely knew that it was Mystique, he was just willing to go with the fantasy for a while until the scars snapped him back to reality.

Non-spoilers, in short L/R shippers will find LOTS of things to obsess over.
L/J shippers will find LOTS of things to angst over.
Lo/Ro shippers will continue to make it up as they go along. ;)
And Kurt deserves his own fandom, he was kewl.

Oh and fans of Highlander - Watch out for Methos

WAHEY!

Ok, so I just had to zoom my page down here so I didn't catch any of the spoilers. XD
Yis! You're the Nth person to say that it rocks! :D I want to see it so~ bad, they keep showing bloody trailers on TV, it's all over the internet, all over LJ... and I hate cinemas. But Nightcrawler is so cool~~~ want to see~~~~~! >_______<;;
I'll try my hardest to see it, even if it means breathing into a paper bag whilst I'm watching the film. :p If I only see one film this year I want to see X2...
and The Matrix Reloaded...and Pirates of The Caribbean. XD

You really went straight back in to see it again? Too cool. ^o^

LOL, yeah, we came out, realised the next showing was in literally 15 minutes and went riiiight back in again, leaving Charlie, Char's mum, Rachie and Bunny on the steps of the Curzon looking deeply confused.

They didn't think we'd actually go through with it. XD

it kicks butt and if you ever need a viewing buddy... you know where I am ;)

really good thing. I'm finding myself actually quite liking him here for some reason. Halle I still do want to throttle every now and then but Scott's almost growing on me.

I agree! In fact I actually felt for the guy.

Oh and... there was blubbing...

There was ;) And did Wolvie look just a little uncomfortable with Scott blubbing on his shoulder?

There was blubbing that will inspire much ficcing and we have to say... we were pretty damned surprised by the ending. Whoever woulda' thought they'd kill off Jean...?

I actually caught that accidently on a mail which wasn't spoiler headed :( Still it was pretty dramatic to say the least!

Well, ok, with LOTS of space for a Phoenix sequel, but yeah... THEY CRIED...

They cried! I almost did myself, what a wuss!

Well ok Wolvie had a manly lip tremble and watery face but yeah. just orgasm-inducingly good

He did, it was awful, I got a lump in my throat and everything, I don't like to see him all watery eyed like that :(

Ohhhhhhhh... and the Wolvie Uniform... fits just SO much better.

HEE! I bet many have noticed that point ;)

The primal scream. Christ on a stick... *withers and dies* Though... too much backlighting. just TOO much backlighting. ;)

Now I actually forgot he was naked! Can you believe that, all that waiting and expectation and I just lost the plot when he looked so, all that blood and emotion and well again teary eyed affect in the cinema. I must be hormonal or something!

Kurt... wow, he was fantastic. I must admit I was a little concerned about the accent but it actually turned out very well.

Man, wasn't he just! And his voice had a very soothing, calm effect to it *sigh* he was great!

Oh and what in the HELL was that shirt of Wolvie's about...? That last shirt. Right at the end... That was a BAD BAAAD shirt. XD

ROFL! I thought of you guys when I saw that shirt. All I could think of is, "Man, are you going to get trashed on LJ for that!" *g*

In my theater, several people (me included) said that out loud. I heard several, "Whoa, nice shirt!" from multiple points in the room. Everything else was phenomenal-- I'm going back tomorrow for sure.

KAT says it's because both Aussies and Canadians have really bad dress-sense, so it evidently collided like a fatal train-wreck to create that shirt he wore... ;p

ROFL! What with that shirt and Scott's trousers, I'm just thanking my lucky stars they weren't worn together *g*

My gran had a saying, she always used to say, "First up, best dressed!" I saw that and thought, boy you two must be so lazy in the mornings *g*

There was ;) And did Wolvie look just a little uncomfortable with Scott blubbing on his shoulder?

I didn't notice, I was too carried away watching the lip tremble. ;D

I actually caught that accidently on a mail which wasn't spoiler headed :( Still it was pretty dramatic to say the least!

Ohh, thankfully I managed to avoid that. I was expecting phoenix-y-ness but not a dramatic death scene.

They cried! I almost did myself, what a wuss!

I almost did the first time too... the second time I just enjoyed watching them suffer.. XD

I don't like to see him all watery eyed like that :(

Really...? I rather enjoyed that part actually... ^^;;

Now I actually forgot he was naked! Can you believe that

Actually, no... It was never far from my mind at all.

I just lost the plot when he looked so, all that blood and emotion and well again teary eyed affect in the cinema. I must be hormonal or something!

Yeah, I will agree, that part was damn good. A bloodied and screaming and *meep*

All I could think of is, "Man, are you going to get trashed on LJ for that!" *g*

ROFL!
Well it was a superbly dubious shirt... XD
All the way through with a skimpy vest and suddenly... baaaaaad shirt...

I was trying to distract myself from that, I was starting a whole lip tremble of my own and that won't do in public ;)

Ohh, thankfully I managed to avoid that. I was expecting phoenix-y-ness but not a dramatic death scene.

It was dramatic, I agree, kinda like the 'parting of the sea' it had biblical proportions *g*

I almost did the first time too... the second time I just enjoyed watching them suffer.. XD

Good! Now I don't feel quite as bad. Now I know to expect it, I'll try to avoid my own emotional saga and just take note of Wolvie's next time. Maybe later this evening *g*

Really...? I rather enjoyed that part actually... ^^;;

I enjoyed it! It was the whole overload of inner turmoil and pain that grabbed me. He pulled it off very well, too well for my liking, it made me want to climb into the screen and give him a big squishy hug!

ROFL!

*Nods* Maybe we catch notch it up to grief.
