lady_t_220Taking a break from painting the bathroom. First coat on all the woodwork, got the mildrew spots treated & covered, and the manky carpet of doom has been removed. There's fresh lino cut already and rolled up waiting to take its place
(Oooh, the excitement! No, really, my mother is from a generation where carpeted bathrooms made total sense, except my dad was a very fastidious man who knew how to aim. JR is not and doesn't. As a result we've just hauled out the world's mankiest carpet that mostly just acts like a sponge for wee. JR swears blind it's the boys but not only are they only here at weekends, but they are both too short for that sort of nonsense and still have to sit down to pee. Seriously, dude, unless they're teleporting here or mum's straddling the bowl back to front, it's totally just you...)
Gonna get a second coat on the wood, then do walls & ceilings tomorrow. Hopefully get the new lino down Thursday. Then the bathroom will be done! Hurrah! Just the hall, landing, stairs, downstairs bathroom, living room, dining room, study and kitchen to go... Frankly I see this running out of steam by bathroom #2. Or more accurately I see ME running out of steam by bathroom #2. We're sure as hell not going to finish by the start of term and the chances of anything happening after that are minimal.
Ah well, we'll see how it goes.
