Sitting around, distantly waiting for the Olympics opening ceremony. I can't shake the feeling it all sounds a little bit like we'll be watching Danny Boyle's televised midlife crisis but I'm more than willing to be proven wrong...

It'll be weird, that's for bloody sure.

Not much else going on today. Trying to decide if I should go into town tomorrow or not. Won't have K to while away the time with, but it's either that or start painting the bathroom ceiling with mildew remover, so...

Uncle D's coming over, K&BW will be on a plane somewhere over Africa and JR will be at Pride trying not to look shocked by the possibility of scantily clad young people.

Ehhh~~ I might leave mum to it for a bit and go take a potter around.


Also, because of reasons earlier this week (that don't need going in to but mostly involve a chocolate-cherry cake and the parental units entirely forgetting I actually live here), Normie sent me a consolation black forest gateaux this morning.

So C&R&B and I ate it between us this afternoon and it was both good cake and MUCH more congenial company.
I had a happy little moment of cake and wibble

If Pride there is anything like the Pride pics I've seen (mostly from Toronto), it won't me mostly young people and "scantily clad" is being optimistic. (the Toronto rule seems to be, the more body hair, the fewer clothes.) When do K&BW leave?

HEE! I enjoyed it hugely. Ken Bran and his cigar, Bean, Bond & Her Maj, Inflatable Voldie, the Poppins paratroop, glowing bicycle doves... the cauldren was pretty spectacular, too.
