lady_t_220Have a fic to post. Not had time. Been an odd day.
K&BW's car got shunted this morning, by a crazy woman in a Skoda too busy talking to her passenger to notice they were stopped at some lights. They got shunted into the car in front, who got shunted into another car in front of them. 3 cars damaged in total not counting the Skoda's front end, and K&BW's is a write off. Everyone's fine, if a little shaken up and possibly a touch achey.
The AA recovery form amuses me though. The little car diagram about which part of the vehicle is damaged just has two big ovals on it. The front half... and the back half.
I'm told the Beany was pretty hysterical and the Boo followed Beany's lead. The Bug on the other hand remained entirely calm and was far more concerned by what had happened to her green princess shoes. (Screw the car, it's far more important to find out whether her special shoes are damaged!)
Sooooo yeah. The mad Skoda woman's insurance will take the hit for the damage but as K&BW's car's been written off they'll probably only get its list value... which is round about fuck all cause it's pretty old.
So I ended up taking Kat to town in our Jabba slug this morning instead. TKMaxx had Portmeirion Magic Garden anniversary mugs in the reduced section.
*makes flappy hands*
I could not resist. I bought one while at the factory shop in Wales the other year, for the original price. Picked up a matching one the other week because they were boxless and down to £6. Today they were down to £3 each because seemingly no one except me is interested in them so now I have a set of 4 (2 colour, 2 graphite) and I am very, very pleased.
They had one of the Dolphin pattern mugs there too but I have a particular thing for the Magic Garden design.
AAaaaaaaaanyhoo. Now JR has to drive K&BW home. The squids are staying here tonight as usual but the grown ups aren't getting their courtesy car till Monday. Because my dear brother is a numpty and forgot to mention that they were now stranded at his mother's. *D'oh!*
