Fanart Dump
Sep. 3rd, 2011 12:59 pmI've been taking part in a fortnightly art challenge and some of the prompts have ended up leading to fanart. Apologies to those who've seen them on Flickr already.
Prompt: "A style or medium you've never used before"
Palette Knives and Impasto (Heavy Base Acrylic on Canvas Board)
A slightly more impressionistic finish than I'm used to, but still recognisably human at least.
I extend my apologies to Mr Cumberbatch for the unfortunate mauling of his profile.

Prompt: "Overlay/Double-exposure"
Overlay (chalk & charcoal on book pages)
One of those weeks where the thing you thought you were going to do was thwarted at every turn so you wind up with the thing that opportunity just happened to throw in your path. In this case a 1970’s imprint of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Volume 12) that fell out of its binding and shed its pages across the floor.
Canon Holmes shares a little space and face-time with his most contemporary incarnation.

(And some associated papercut-related fiddling around.)

Date: 2011-09-03 02:50 pm (UTC)The book ones...wow. I love them. I want to take them for ice cream and a long walk on the beach.
Thank you so much for sharing these with us.
