A testament to the warping visual effect of Blister Packs:

It's odd to say that once taken out of the plastic and examined more closely, it is strangely the Super Poseable Wolverine that has the more accurately shaped face.
Looked just plain WRONG in the packet. Out of the pack it's actually not so bad. And he really is very poseable. He bends in all sorts of places, in fact.
The battle attack Logan does have some nifty little details though. From the belt buckle to the way his head moves when you lift his arms. It's all much better put together than the first movie movie's figures. You can bend their elbows for starters, unlike the Wolvie/Rogue double pack from the last movie.
One does have to wonder though, why they mould different heads for all of them. Why not mould just one and stick it on everything? It's not like they have great variation in expression or anything...
OK, well maybe 2 heads... angry snarl and vaguely pissed off, which are the 2 expressions present on the old set.

Comics Thoughts:

Ulti #31: Uhh... I was ill when I read #30 so I have to admit I've sort of lost the plot. I have to go back and re-read because I honestly don't remember what the feck's going on.
Cute though was Colossus coming to Wolvie's rescue. I don't care what anyone says, that's more than just simple friendship on the part of the big Russian one to create a reaction like that.
I quote "I do not care who you are and I do not care what you can do... you hurt my friend and you die, do you understand me? Nobody lays a hand on Wolverine!!"

Aww, so sweet... ;)
Bless... and Wolvie's pottering around without a shirt, so all is good as far as I'm concerned.
I'm wondering whether anything will come of this particular dynamic y'know, or whether it's just marvel's heavy-handed attempt at a really loyal friendship. But it does seem a little... how should I say... over enthusiastic to be just friends.
I think at some point they're going to do a quiet little subtle "Petey's gay" substory in some future issue somewhere. I'm guessing it'll be a couple of panels where he admits to someone that he has a crush on Logan but doesn't want to tell him for fear of ruining their friendship kind of a deal. Then that'll be it until they decide to drag it out in some far distant story arc where it throws all the group dynamics into disarray.
This is my considered opinion anyway. It may or may not happen and I eagerly await being proved right or wrong, respetively.

6 hours #4: I've just been enjoying this series for the pure pointless little side adventure it really is. I like the Banner/Logan dynamic. It always amuses me, especially when they bitch at each other.
It's not as funny as the last crossover wih the funky weird artwok and all little Po's side comments though. I really did enjoy that one. I know a lot of people didn't like the art, but *eh* It was odd but not wholly unappealing, and it worked well enough for what it was.
I'm assuming it's the same artist who did the work for the Wolvie/Havoc Meltdown TPB I got the other week, cause it looks pretty similar in that weird, floaty, painted kind of way.

Xisle #1: *sniffs* it's going to shape up to be a sad one again innit?
I like the artwork especially, which makes a change for Marvel these days. It works well with the tone of the story and it's always nice to get something that (at least so far) is more character driven than action and huge explosive fights with Sabertooth driven.
Poor Wolvie, going a little bit psycho there... he does not seem a happy camper by all accounts *she says, stating the blindingly obvious*.
I like the page where it's just him and Amiko sitting next to each other on the ferris wheel and she keeps finishing his sentences for him. Cute... :)
I'll be interested to see where it goes. I'm hoping for some angst and internal monologue strangely enough. Just to ring the changes and all.

It's a definite "You leave my boyfriend alone!" moment. LOL! I actually started laughing in the comic store, getting all sorts of weird looks from the little geek boys surrounding me.

You think Wolvie doesn't know? Hee! Go back and look at Ult X-Men 29, the scenes between Piotr and Logan. *snerk*

*sniffs* it's going to shape up to be a sad one again innit?

Gee, I hope so. DD can tell you all the issues I have with father figure!Logan. One day I will finish the super-long comic!Wolvie story and you'll see for yourself. I was freshly inspired yesterday by this comment and got some more written on it.

Grrrr. Logan makes Homer Simpson look like father of the year!

LOL, I'd forgotten about that... (She says, knowing full well she was much more distracted by Wolvie flinging Cyke off a cliff and the sheer ugliness of Cyke's face after he landed) but anyhoo, I'm not saying he doesn't KNOW already, I'm saying I don't see Pete as being the type to come right out to the whole team with a big declaration of his intentions and enquire as to when he gets the hot Wolverlovin'.
Especially now Wolvie told him to keep it bottled up inside.

Darnit, if only I could write slash with a straight face...
;p

Depends who's writing it ;)
As Amiko says, all growly on the outside, soft as pudding underneath. I think it's kinda' cute.
When he's not off galavanting around somewhere randomly of course.

LOL, actually there was an article in the Radio Times recently, written by some psychologist nut that went off on one about what a great family unit the Simpsons really were...
Sorry, just made me laugh XD

I hated that. Even though Logan might be serious tempted, I don't think he'd do that to Cyke. It just doesn't fit with my view of the character, darn it!

Hee! Judging from the expression on some of the X-team member's faces, I think a few of 'em clued in on Petey's crush during his "no one hurts my boyfriend" attack on Magneto. It makes me wonder how he'll react to Scott blowing Wolvie away for the murder attempt. I can see it now. Wolvie and Petey leaving the team and driving around the country in a convertible a la Thelma and Louise. Wolvie wearing a scarf to protect his hairdo from the whipping wind as they drive...

Darnit, if only I could write slash with a straight face...

Who says you have to do it with a straight face, huh? Do a parody if you want. ;-)

There, you've just hit on my major gripe against Logan. The running-off-and-leaving-people-behind thing he does. It's tough enough for adults, but doing it to kids is unforgiveable. It got worse from Kitty to Jubilee to Amiko. He's practically forgotten Jubes exists now, and Amiko... until this Xisles comic came out, he had a running streak of only seeing Amiko when she was in trouble or being held captive by someone trying to get to Logan. It was like he'd forget about her until guilt and obligation came calling. Otherwise, he was more trust account than father to her. Grrrr.

I have mixed opinions on that one... I can see where you're coming from but in the same breath he's a different character to the other comic Wolvies.
I'll admit it was maybe a BIT far-fetched, but then being crazy about a girl who dropped you like a sack of spuds is also going to make you do loopy things.
I guess I'm just sort of going with the flow and waiting to see what comes of it.

ROFL!!!

Aww, so sweet... holding hands as they drive over the edge of the cliff... where they land, brush themselves off and go find something else to do... XD

It's that twisted sense of honour thing again. He leaves them someplace they're supposed to be safe and with someone who's supposed to keep watch on them so he doesn't have to drag them into danger every 5 minutes.
Of course it's not like a kid ever sees it that way.
Or most adults, come to that, but I figure that's what it's supposed to be about.
It just doesn't take into account the basic desire to be around someone, and whether that stems from him being unthinking in that regard or far too pragmatic about the differences between want and need, I don't know. Maybe it's a little of both.

Like, he sees that they want him to be around, but all the while they're safe and sheltered and with someone trustworthy, he figures they don't need him around, and they certainly don't need to be dragged into the face of danger whenever it comes calling.
He doesn't take into account that children DO need people, even when they are safe and sheltered.
I'd just say he's a little askew on what it feels like to really need the company of another, and for that you could go around blaming a whole slew of historical incidents...
Or on the other hand you could call him a jerk. ;)

There you go. There's your slash fic. Storm's POV, realizing that Piotr's got a crush on Wolvie, and what she imagines they'd be like together. You could camp it up for laughs if you wanted.

Those are some really great ideas. I'm gonna swipe 'em for the super-long comic!Wolvie fic, showing how he internally responds when he hears his girls' complaints about him. Hope you don't mind.

I find it interesting, more than anything else. Like I can pretty much guess how comic Wolvie would react in any given circumstance, but Ulti Wolvie doesn't necessarily follow those lines.
It rings the changes though I can see how it'd irk the heck out of people who expect him to behave a certain way.

Plus, even if he's a grumpy sod, unconstrained by an internal code of honour, he still looks really good with no shirt and pants ripped right down to the crotch... XD

Swipe away, m'dear. It's gratifying to know my pointless thoughts sometimes have a point after all ;)

Oh, and remind me again, where's the ripped down to the crotch pic? Just for research purposes, you know. ;-D

LOL... it's on the page where Cyke and Wolvie face each other in Ulti 31... the bit where Logan says he guesses an apology isn't going to cut it. :D

Do you know what kind of innuendo you're implying? Wolvie with his jeans ripped down to the crotch saying he guesses an apology isn't going to cut it. I wonder what Cyke's gonna say will make it up to him. *giggle*

LOL! They better let him in if they know what's good for 'em. Petey already showed Magneto what happens when someone threatens to come between him and Wolvie.
