lady_t_220Traffic was fuckin' hectic trying to get out of work today. Or more, should I say, impossible.
Almost stationary both directions, both kerbs lined with parked cars. I'm assuming something was going on at the Grammar school because their carpark was full of coaches and there were an awful lot of people hanging around.
Had to come home the long way because there is no way I could have turned right down the A6. Not a freaking chance in hell.
Busy day too. R at work has a vile, hacking cold. If she gives it to me I'm not going to be best pleased. Especially this close to my time off.
Oh and on the mattress cover battle, yes he had taken it off again, but the bosslady said to leave it otherwise he whinges. She's having an insurance policy crisis right now so the last thing she wants is whingy teenagers waffling about matress covers.
They have to find a new insurance policy for the Garendon down the road, the hotel she part-owns with her brother and sister-in-law. Seven Trent, the water people, need to do something about the drainage down that whole part of the street because every basement on that road has flooded twice in the last year. The insurers are refusing to take any of them on again until Seven Trent agrees to fix the problem.
Only problem... ST don't want to know. They've been waiting 8 months for them to come do this work and they're still waiting.
Their old insurance policy runs out in 3 days time. Without the work being done they have no more insurance cover after that, which means the Garendon will have to close until it's sorted.
Even for a short stint that's going to be crippling, hence the crisis.
Naturally all the blame falls at the feet of sister-in-law Denise because she was supposed to be phoning ST religiously until they came and did this work, and naturally she didn't.
*rolls eyes*
It gets more and more like Family Affairs in that place every bloody day.
