Yah, not so much.
In my general cruising I stumbled over someone else's recently-posted fic in the same fandom that just happens to include like a half a dozen snatches of dialogue and turns of phrase that are exactly the same as ones I've used.
*headdesks*
I think I have some more editing to do. Because regardless that they were written individually and happen to contain similar dialogue purely by chance, identical ends reached by entirely unrelated processes, fact is the other author got theirs out first which means I have to change mine or it just looks like I totally ripped them off.

That said, probably for the best. The ending wasn't working to my complete satisfaction anyway, I was just too lazy to scrap and re-write the damn thing. I generally try to find at least a vaguely unique way to express the same-ol same-ol but, given as some of the phrasing really was identical, I think I kind of missed on that score. Either that or I have an evil brain-twin out there somewhere.
Ho hum.
Might put that one on hiatus for a week or so, I have another idea chewing at my heels and I've hit the "I'm sick to death of staring at this fic" stage on the almost-finished one.
