Dear Hollywood,
Would you stop re-heating classic TV and maybe come up with an original idea once in a frickin' while?
I loved my 80s telly as much as the next My Little Pony-collecting pre-teen weaned on 4 channels and a TV that seemed perpetually tuned to Paul Daniels, but good God damn, give it a rest.
If you start re-making Police Academy movies next I am going to be forced to HURT YOU.

Facepalming, "Why can't I quit you?!" style love

My sore throat has not gone away and the maternal confirms she has one as well. In recognition of this fact I am drinking neat gin to 'sterilise my throat' and typing like a demon. It's a shame one can't get a career as a hard-drinking, washed-up writer cliche trope from a film-noir these days, I think I may have found my calling.

That's one I'd like to see. I could have been influenced by a suggestion of Hugh Jackman, in a sequined dress, doing backing vocals for Elvis in someone's blog.

*snorks*

It's not the concept itself that bothers me, I liked Quantum Leap and in theory I can see how they'd want to go about refreshing it, but I'm just getting a little tired with the reliance on recycling proven old ideas lately.

You SAY that about the Police Academy movies, but Alan Carr was just interviewing Bobcat Goldthwait, so it's in the air...

Actually though, Kat's probably right. Airwolf is probably next. All these old Bellesario properties are getting revamped. Actually, I just looked it up and Magnum, P.I. is next. Airwolf and Tales of the Gold Monkey can't be far behind.
