The boys next door are having a backyard party/sleep-out thing. They juuuust turned on the music. It's kinda' loud, but if you shut the window you can't hear it. OK, that makes it stuffy but, c'mon, it's only 10pm, it's not THAT late.
JR's currently got his head out the window yelling at them cause they woke him up, and he's already threatening to call the police.
I'm just sitting here quietly dying of embarressment, going "Ohhhh God, please stop being such a hypocritical dickface..."
Yes, ok, it's kind of loud for 10pm and we have the kids staying over right now so that's not helping, but the kids would sleep right through it anyway if given half a chance and considering how often OUR DOG wakes up anyone with functional ears at stupid o'clock in the fucking morning, we have no room to be bitching them out for noise.
Damn he's such a reactionary wanker. "I'll call the police" is like his go-to line when anyone does stuff he doesn't like, whether it's door-to-door salesmen or the guy across the road looking at him funny, when 90% of the time a polite request *first* would have helped no end before going in with the shouty, shouty self-righteous bullshit.
Such as in this case, putting your head out the window and saying "Hey, guys, would you mind turning it down a bit, only it's kinda' late etc etc..." would have probably got the same response but without making himself look like a total crazy old misery in the process.

Someone was having a barbecue or something and they were playing some really great music, but it was not quite loud enough to enjoy it where I was. I actually yelled out asking them to turn it up and they turned it down. Inconsiderate bastards!
Of course the other one I like is "Hey, buddy? I just had my friend in the States on the phone, they say could you turn the music up a bit as they can't hear it properly!"
