Jun. 23rd, 2010 09:32 amOh well, great...
No problems booting up ye increasingly-wonky PC this morning, it started up fine. Then as I was cruising youtube it spontaneously shut down. Like *pouff* cut the power.
I think... probably my power supply is done for.
Haven't tried turning it on since it offed itself, I'm too scared it's going to be really properly fucked or something. If some form of resultant power wonkery has fried any more of the internals I think i'll just say 'fuck it' and use my last partial paycheque upgrade at the end of the month. Alternatively if it's just a dead power supply then that's fine. I can live with that. I'd rather not have to drop my entire last partial paycheque on new hardware quite yet.
On the study comp instead right now. The screen needs cleaning and there appear to be crumbs on everything. I do not know why.

Date: 2010-06-23 03:53 pm (UTC)Before you spend serious money on new parts, that the back off the thing and give it a good dusting. Buy one or two of those compressed air cans. They are a lot cheaper than a power supply.
