All told, it came out a pretty nice plummy maroon sort of colour. (It was a mix of Directions 'dark tulip' and Manic Panic 'Purple Haze' both of which were... well let's say the manic panic gel had been around long enough to have entirely liquefied, and leave it at that. I think I stopped shortly after K&BW got married so, yeah... a while ago.)

I remember it being a lot less messy back in the day, but then I also had a lot more practice at it too. I (probably wisely) took the precaution of actually vaseline-ing my ears and hairline this time, something I never used to bother with, and it's probably a good job that I did cause even so my ears and the back of my neck are both a bit on the colourful side right now.

All that said, it really does take a LOT less dye when your hair is not down to your waist. Can't really ask for much else. I've probably got enough purple haze left to to do it once more if I'm fairly frugal with it though i finished off the dark tulip which is why this batch is so reddish.

It turned out better than I remember, the tinting barely used to show which is why I used to bleach it. I dunno, maybe my hair's just getting lighter...

No, it was bright pink streaked at the front. But that was bleached then dyed which is why it was so lurid.

*lol* depending on how many times I wash my hair between now and next week, it may or may not last that long.
I've only got dark purple left now. I may have to go see if Emporium still do the Directions colours.

I'll see how it lasts. If I have enough money I might see if I can get another pot of tulip, otherwise it'll be darker purple next time.

My daughter did her hair in just about that same color a few years ago. She does henna now. Have you ever tried that?
