Off to Sarah's this afternoon, for coffee and a catch-up on what's been going down lately. You know, what with the whole jobless-again thing and all.

Also been re-writing kitteychan's CV. That's the, uh, third one in a month. (Just need to do gourami_tea's and I'll have done the full set!)
I should start charging more than the metaphorical '50p and a Bueno'**, cause I'm really good at bullshitting. It's essentially nonsense anyway, putting an "Aren't I AMAZING!" spin on the mundane.

Unrelatedly, I think I'm going to have to invest in a big pile of multi-coloured post-its and take the Minchin tour poster off the back of the door so I have somewhere to rearrange the timeline of the novel that I keep plotting out and totally failing to actually get on and write. Unfortunately right now my outline spans multiple documents and numerous POVs as I develop sub-plots, but there's no grand scheme on how they all weave together and where the empty patches in the story are. I think I need some visual reference to sort out the mess in my brain.

It would also help if I could really seem to get inside my characters but as yet I have them conceptually but I'm having trouble making them animated.
And yes, I am aware that I should pull my finger out and just write and worry about all that in the edits as that is what editing is for. But TBH I stil feel like I'm trying to find the right doorway into my own story. I know what will happen and where it will go and how bits will play out, I just can't quite find the right angle for approach.









**'50p and a Bueno' -standard theoretical royalties fee. Not-so-Shorthand for 'free' on the understanding that if you make money from the outcome you will be responsible for the purchasing of an actual Kinder Bueno for the payee.

Obviously, it would be highly inefficient to obtain an imported (and yes, illegal) Kinder Egg in the US and mail it there when you have such a steady supply domestically. Of course, you might have to wait until I get over there next year before I can purchase said choking hazard for you. ;)
