Today... I am applying for stuff. To be technical I'm pretty much just applying for anything and everything regardless of how unqualified I may technically be. Worst they can do is ignore me, right? Right, that's my thinking.

So, because this is essentially the most amazingly boring thing it's possible to be doing on a rainy Thursday, let's liven this up with a competition!

Here's the question-
How many jobs will I have applied for by the end of today?

I'll keep a count and post the total some time around midnight. Put your guesses in the comments. Closest guess wins... something. I don't know what yet. Probably just some shiny adoration for your intuition, but possibly something else, it depends how bored I get between now and then and how much of the afternoon is spent procrastinating.


(C'mon, humour me, make a guess. My life is swirling down into a quagmire of ennui and futility as it is...)

I should probably add at this point, I'm too lazy to apply for anything that has more pages to the application form than there are hours-per-week of the job. Which has been 3 of them so far! Seems all academic institutions use exactly the same blank form regardless of whether you're applying to be the new head of Social Anthropolgy or the lady who cleans the canteen loos...

You did tell me, yeah, but I was too much of a spazz to look it up when I was in town Tuesday, and it was pissing it down too much on Wednesday. I'll have to look in on that one at the weekend.
