Jan. 24th, 2010 01:03 amCame back from the library empty-handed today. Nothing really grabbed my fancy this time round. Some days you find loads, other days not so much. Though they did have the sequel to Scott Lynch's "The Lies of Locke Lamora" which I am still very much wanting to read. But there was unfortunately one substantial reason I didn't borrow it.
Those familiar with the first book will know it's a pretty hefty paperback. (Those not familiar with it, go and read it, it's bloody brilliant.)
The sequel, "Red Seas Under Red Skies" is even bigger. And the only copy in the library system?
Is hardback.
Holy Crap. It was like lugging around a brick.
I really want to read it, but not at the risk of a hernia every time you want to pick it up, you know?
I think I'll wait until I get some more Amazon vouchers and just buy the paperback cause that was some rediculously heavy reading right there.
I am totally not-sleepy right now. And incredibly bored.
I think I probably had too much caffine too late in the day. I may be awake for some time yet.
