I braved the outdoors! Go me.
The snow's super powdery, and iced over on the top, and it must have snowed again between mum & JR leaving and my waking up cause there were no footprints on the drive except for the postman. So either it snowed, the maternal learned how to levitate or they were abducted by aliens during the night.

So anyhow, I donned my winter boots, pulled on my awesome cow hat, bundled myself into a coat and walked a fully tretcherous twenty five metres to the postbox.

So. Stupidly. Slippery.

OK, the pavements weren't too bad, the new layer of snow hadn't been trampled on yet (evidently most people have given up on going anywhere,) but the road... eesh. It's as slippy as it ever was, except now it's *orange* and slippy, thanks to the council vaguely gritting on top of a solid layer of compacted ice yesterday. Oh, and the bin-men finally came. Two days late, but at least they did eventually turn up.

On the plus side, the temperature difference between out there and in here is substantial, and after I was done kicking about virgin show like a toddler I was quite glad to get back indoors.
*hugs little electric radiator*

Anyway, at least I've made a move towards being productive. Mailed one job application, e-mailed another last night, updated ye jargon-tastic CV, did most of my laundry at last, trawled for Sherlock Holmes pics so I could make a new icon, that sort of thing.
I may shortly go and do something as drastic as get some chicken out to defrost so I can make chow mein tonight. Oooooo...
