The just-how-useless-are-Watersones saga continues. The book's page on their site has now reverted back to it being a pre-order, despite the fact that it came out over a month ago and amazon has it in stock for immediate shipping.

I have written a very grumpy letter to customer service and, annoyingly, felt obliged to cancel the order. Cause at this point it's pretty obvious I ain't gonna' get it.

Which means I still have a solid half-a-book's worth of credit to use on their site, and NO desire to order anything from them at any point in the conceiveable future.

Bugger.

I hate to let good credit languish.

On the semi-related topic of which, I really should have gone to the library while I was in town. I still haven't properly investigated since they re-opened in November.

Actually, you might be entitled to insist on a full cash refund rather than a credit refund. Might be worth checking your rights on this one!

In this case, because I was paying with credit already on there because of a e-voucher, I'm fairly certain it'll be stuck as credit.

Maybe, but you could argue that you have made a valid attempt to redeem the credit, they have failed to honour it by delivering the goods, therefore they are in breach of contract. And they are also in breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

You would, in fact, have a case for pressing charges for theft, which I'm sure they wouldn't want!

But, on the other hand, when I am less pissed off with them, I will probably just redeem the credit for a different book they actually have in stock at some point in the future.

To be fair, it's not their fault if their supplier is being a dick and not shipping things out to them, but their customer service sucks ass.

*chuckles* Now, if I didn't know you were as English as me, I'd let that last comment slide, but as you are, I'm going to point out that sucking a donkey is illegal in this country, but I'm sure you could find it if you took safe search off google!

Only if you're sucking in a lewd way. I'm sure an affectionate nibble on an ear wouldn't count.

True, but it might earn you a hoof in the keister!
