Today's project: Old sayings are wrong
Mar. 14th, 2003 01:42 pmThere is no such thing as a free lunch
Guess what?
Got a free lunch.
Working away, making the bed in 12 and suddenly... "You want a jacket tater...?"
"Uh... Yeah, ok..."
"What you want on it? Cheese and butter?"
"Uhh... Yeah, ok."
"Here you are."
*plonks jacket tater in front of me*
So today we learn: There is such a thing as a free lunch, it just doesn't happen very often and you shouldn't make a thing of assuming you'll get one again any time soon.
Also today, I met Jo (the other Jo, not the weekend Jo) who used to do the weekday shift that I now do.
Uh... creepy, creepy chick.
Also, seriously fucked up. Has that whole druggie look to her. Like Steven Tyler in the days before Geffen.
Pregnant with child number 5... or maybe 6, I dunno, one of the two. Not that it makes a lot of difference cause she doesn't look after the others anyway. The youngest one hasn't been to school in 6 months cause she's too busy doing all the housework while Jo sleeps all day in a catatonic haze.
I stay out of it, it's like bloody Family Affairs when they all get going. Who needs Corrie, eh? Got enough personality drama right here.
Aside form that, have a nice, uneventful weekend ahead of me. Probably pop into the city tomorrow and take a wee trip to the bank to throw today's money in my account. Pick up my comics and stuff. See how much money I have left after that, I might buy another CD or something. I need more CDs.
Have to figure out how to work my new car stereo too. Don't have a CLUE how to make it function :D
And now, Evo's about to start and I have an appointment with my PC to finish that smutfic I was writing.
