*makes disgusted type noises*
Ye Gods, it looks like Dargonaball
I'd like to point out how utterly sick I am of Marvel's manga kick. While I appreciate that their studies have shown manga TPBs sell really well and that they want some of that action, I'd also like to point out that if I wanted to read manga, I would buy manga.
I would not buy half-assed bastardised manga "style" artwork, especially if it looks like a Dragonball Z reject. *hisses and spits in the general Dragonball direction*
Now, this particular example being from their mangaverse I can pretty much live with ignoring it, but it spreads. And while I have nothing against Kia Asamiya (does some really good manga art) even Charlie the massive Nadesico fan admits that in a Marvel comic it's just plain weird.
That's the thing about Uncanny, y'see. I don't especially care for the artwork and Charlie doesn't especially care for the story. We both look at it and think of reasons why we probably should buy it, but ultimately we don't because it sits on an unhappy line where it's neither manga nor marvel. It pretty much ends up losing out on both.
