Ulti war 4: Yeey! Bobby! Bobby riding in and saving the day made me strangely happy. That's about all I have to say on it really. I have to admit I don't like The Ultimates terribly much. No more than I ever liked the characters originally, so big chunks of this title have been frankly boring.
Waistcoat guy in magic lab was excitedly telling me that when Ulti war comes out as a collected it's going to be listed as an X-men title not an Ultimates title... frankly I don't care either way, but it's more likely to sell as an X-men title purely because they're more popular.
I see bits of Origin-y contenuity are following us again, with more James Howlett type name-dropping, which was a bit of a dirty trick from Cap there, but then I already said I never liked him very much.

Ulti 28/29: Nice to see Nightcrawler again... and to know that there is still somewhere in the Marvel chimps repertoire where the art does not disgust me. ;) *cough Wolverine preview in Wizard cough*
The part with Scott being all beaten to a pulp and disgusting and smooshed-up... I swear I've read that part before. I must have seen a preview or something because it all looks highly familiar, even down to the bit about KFC centipedes...
His face and bendy arm grossed me out then, and his face and bendy arm still gross me out now.
As to Logan letting him drop... not sure what to think about that one honestly. I know Eil wants to slap Mark Millar for the extreme out of characterness, and I will agree that original comic Wolvie and undoubtedly even movie Wolvie would not have let him fall. But then this is Ulti Wolvie, and while I'm not certain he'd be quite THAT much of a total bastard I can sort of see where Millar's trying to come from. Basically that this Logan's not bogged down with all that code of honour feeling and that he's crazy enough about Jean to do whatever he can to get her.
I'm not totally sure I buy it but I'm willing to wait it out... see how it goes. Mostly cause I'm too lazy to get pissed off about it and I have a soft spot for self-serving bastards. Musta' been all those Blackadder re-runs as a kid.

Suspicious part says "Cyke said: Wolverine? and Wolverine said: Guess again, bub." Might there be squiffness ahead or might I be, most likely, reading too much into the end of the conversation about life-saveage? Might there be a greater plan afoot?
They're naturally going to end up finding Magneto's citadel through Scott. Could there be a reason besides total bastadary to let Scott fall down a cliffside?

Not that it bothers me if Scott lives or not, on the most part he annoys the shit out of me, but *eh*...
I'm waiting till the end of the arc. I'm also sick to death of Scott/Jean cannon, but this is beside the point.

Wolvie 186: Never saw the Mauling of Wolvie in the pages of Punisher, and I'm not exactly heartbroken about that... I can live without bare skull face wandering around talking like an arse... I just don't like the art in this issue though the muscle mag at the end was amusing.
Single, neat and VERY organised... uh huh, yeah, they're all potential suspects. I'll believe you.
Still depressed at the loss of Chen. I will get over it one day and as I said before, so long as the writing doesn't suck on Wolvie then I will survive.
Of course even if the writing does suck you all know I'll still be buying it cause they got me stupidly hooked...

There's a funny smell coming from downstairs... I don't like it, it smells a little fishy, like something squiffy fell in the chip pan.
I wonder what the hell john's been cooking down there. It smells vile.

Thirsty now. Need cola...
