Yet more weekend gone

Nipped into the city after work to clear out my box... Had Wolvie 186, part 3 of the hulk X-over, Ulti 27 and 28 and Ulti war 4... not had a chance to read any of them yet cause I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Char talking crap :D

Also picked up Wizard for the Wolvercover (sorry DD, no buckle in sight... but there's much detail on the watch). There's a not a lot of X2 stuff in it, just some Sawn Ashmore on-set diary and a few piccies I've already seen, but *eh* I like the cover. ;)

It also has that massive great preview of the new Wolverine thing...
My feelings are mixed, having read through it. I like the writing but it's UGLY... really really damned ugly... And darnit, it's kinda' disgusting in places too, I don't wanna' see people scratching their arses and adjusting their butt-crack. It's not appealing, and if it's all in the name of realism then please... let's have some unreality back...?
My only other real comment... after he lets the girl in his room, as he's sitting on the sheet on the floor with his knees bent like that he looks like a beer-swilling frog.
Overall, his feet are big and his legs are short, enough with the grittiness already.
I'll learn to live with it so long as the writing doesn't suck as well, but MAN what I would give for Chen to still be drawing this title... :(

And now... I'm going to go read my comics and mourn my lost weekend. Cause today I find not only am I in on Sat, Sun and Mon, but I get to go in eeeeextra early on Sat (how's 8:15 sound...?) to help out with brekfast.
What I want to know is where in the hell is Jo, she's supposed to be doing weekend brekfast duties not me... I don't function that early in the morning... -_-

Gonna' poke John and make him take me to see Daredevil on Saturday or Sunday, whether he wants to go or not. I need some time off, darnit.

Ooooh, watch detail is good. Can you scan the cover so I can get a peek?

Ya know, it's probably for the best that the cover didn't have the buckle. I fear that if the buckle, the watch, and the dog tag were all shown in the same picture, DD might spontaneously combust. Who will update her LJ and take care of her harem then?

Heh, thanks. I'm not a morning person y'know... in fact the only place I've ever really BEEN a morning person is in NYC, because 7am there is lunchtime here and it worked quite nicely with my natural sleep patterns :p
