Mildly more coherant

So anyway, as Liz forgot to tell me it fell to Lesley to inform me of this coming week's work schedule for me. It seems that while the boss and co are away in Germany for the festival I am apparently expected in Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Mondy and then back to my regularly scheduled Tues-Fri. So... I have no weekend this week. It's a damn good job I only work mornings cause otherwise I would be dead.
On the upside, think of the money... mmm... money...
On the downside... think of the lie-ins I'm missing... mmm... sleep...
Thursday tomorrow... have to remember to phone Char tonight and arrange what's happening re finally seeing Daredevil. Not that I hugely feel like hauling myself to the city... but I do have comics to collect and I do want to see the film. Just not sure I fancy the walk to the Odeon. I'd still rather see it in L'borough even if it is as the expense of the X2 trailer. The Odeon is a loooong freaking walk away from the city center when you're still at the stage where you hack up your lungs if you breathe too deeply. (I've had to curb those menacing phonecalls and everything... it's just not menacing when you breath heavy then start choking)
JR's been fitting a new power suply to this comp while I've been out. It's an awful lot quieter... and I have to say so is the Hard Drive. It's eerily silent in fact, to the point where you can't hear it at all unlike the old one which used to chug now and then.
On the MORE noisy side however, all this moving around has disturbed the rickey cables that attatch the bass to my sound system. It's humming at me and no amount of cable-fiddling will get it to stop permanently. Stop for a while then come back, yes, stop and stay stopped...? no.
So I think a new speaker system will be next-ish on my list of purchases, but it's a big list, a small paycheque and it's going to have to wait. *pokes cable with her big toe... it stops humming... for now*
And all the while poking it with my toe makes it stop then I can deal. Like the click and drag QT phenomenon and my docs refusing to remember individual folder views properly. The function's enabled but it just don't wanna' play ball. It's just pissy cause I like big icons except for the MASSIVE files where I like lists. It doesn't like trying to remember 2 things at once apparently though the old one never had this problem.
*shakes head* I swear, every single one of them is different. You can make 20 computers all the same and every damned one of them has a different personality. This one's cranky I've decided. My old one was dogged. And my first one, God bless it, was eternally stupid and exceedingly random.
And now... lunch. That would be nice. Before I keel over and die through not having eaten a full meal in 2 days. Not for lack of food, you understand, cause God knows we have mountains of that. More to lack of any enthusiasm at all.
Plus the evil cold knocked the appetite rather and I think it's only really just coming back to me.
