random book review
Feb. 23rd, 2003 06:36 pmYeGods, is it not possible to get 5 minutes' peace around here without someone needing something from the other fridge and therefore trailing past me continually...?
*grumps*
Tired, still a little under the weather, glad I don't have to go back to work for another day yet. Hacking cough is still hacking. Nose is still running. Face feels a little crusty and gacky as it always does when I'm ill. No matter what you do it just never feels quite right.
Went rooting around the study for a book I've not already read. Came up with one my uncle threw our way the last time he had a clear out that we've not got rid of yet.
My Life On A Plate by India Knight...
*makes noncommital blah type faces*
I'll admit... not my kinda' book to start with but I have nothing major against the premise. The only problem is that the premise has been done to death a few thousand times over by people who've done it better.
Frankly, it bores me. The only reason I continue to read it is my pathalogical hatred of not finishing a book once I started just in case it gets better at the end.
Here's the sad bit... I've read more engaging and better-crafted fanfic.
