Jan. 7th, 2014 09:51 pmFeeling much better today. Still a little dribbly in the nose but less viral so this is good. I also have a stupidly light and pointless week ahead of me as I have, almost literally, nothing to do at work until next Tuesday.
Woo? (I mean, woo, lazy llama is probably a good thing given the circumstances but gosh the days drag when you're making up busywork.)
Trying to decide what I want to do about my birthday this year. It's on a Monday so I have to work on the actual day but at least it's close to a weekend. It's just... what to do?
Drinky dinner party? Daytrip? Afternoon out for genteel pursuits involving tea? I've had many good things suggested.
Sad thing is, despite having just had 2 weeks off I am still both too tired and socially spent to really want to do anything other than hermit (and if we're being honest my liver is cringing a little at the idea of more drinking). So if you asked me right this second now what I wanted to do, I think I would book a hotel room somewhere not-here and spend the weekend doing nothing and not talking to anyone, and possibly ordering room service in between insanely long naps.
On the other hand, in another two and a half weeks, I will probably have changed my mind.
Maybe dinner out? Though I admit I have yet to find a resturant round here that isn't either a pub or a bit... well... crap.
I think maybe I just want an excuse to go somewhere where I can wear nice shoes.
Or a fluffy bathrobe.
Possibly both at the same time. Can you mailorder an indolent minibreak?
