She rang the hospital to see how he was (though why she couldn't ring HIM when he has a bedside phone is beyond me) then declared dramatically and with great relief "He's doing alright... He's eating BREAKFAST!"

I'm waiting for the nurse's station to get caller ID and start screening her calls. :P

So I hear from the bean-pod that... EVIL KATH is no longer the grandmaternal flavour of the month. This amuses me greatly.

And I quote... "Cause apparently she was losing her patience with your gran, and also dared make the suggestion that she should 'Get your family in line'..."

Ahh family. As far as granny's concerned, bitching about it is strictly her perogative only. You are obliged to listen and comiserate but thou mustn't ever partake... for a terrible fate awaits ye, with nasty big pointy teeth!

And apparently granny's priest isn't wildly keen on EVIL KATH either so really... there you go.

Makes my day sunnier, that does.
