Put the towel down and back away slowly
Jan. 29th, 2003 01:25 pmOh man... so this guy in room 5, right... One of the guys who stays all week, well we'd noticed that every day for the past, what... 3 months or so, you always find a towel down by the side of the bed. And it's not like he's been using the shower or anything either (He's at the bloke stage where washing is an unknown concept) but every single day there's this towel... This towel by the bed, lying there crumpled but not damp, so what on earth is he doing?
Now we pondered on that for a moment, till R pointed out that also, actually... it's dry but it's kind of... well... crunchy...
And when she thought about it, when she picked it up a couple of days ago it was... well... stuck togther.
*insert moment of silent thought, followed by realisation, followed by a moment of deep and lasting amusement*
Cause, there's really only one thing that leaves a white towel both still white AND crunchy.
Every night.
Every single damned night for the past 3 months.
I'm torn between deep, deep amusement and great, lingering annoyance that the bastard can't use tissue like the rest of the damned universe... XD
Makes laundry duty more interesting, mind you...
Changing the topic slightly, woke up this morning with a mild sore throat and a generally almost-congested feeling. I'm not sure if it's a cold finally taking advantage of my generally run-down state or if it's just the air-quality or extreme lack thereof. Cause Hereford doesn't get polluted... the wind escaping down the Welsh mountains tends to blow it all away, along with anything not fastened down... Leicestershire however, first thing this morning, was boardering on unbreatheable.
Actually, going away the other day was the first time in ages I've woken up without low-level congestion.
I should think about moving somewhere that doesn't lie in a geographical dip, just right to funnel all the pollution to building-level...
Oh and lastly... 9 hours sleep is not enough when you have so much to make up on. I think tomorrow I'm due for a nice, long lie in.
