I'm having one of those days where it feels like everything is just conspiring to piss me off.
I've just spent the last god-alone-knows how long trying in vain to explain to my mum why I need webspace, and no, Geocities will not do, and how-the-fuck-should-I-know if NTL allow remote linking to images on their servers I can't even FIND granny's website to test it...
Trying to explain anything even vaguely related to the internet to my mum is just like talking to this great big pit of void. For someone who knows SO MUCH about absolutely fricking everything, I don't get how she can understand so little about the internet. It's like this whole world passed her by. Everything from VCRs onwards seems like it's in this random orbit she has no connection with. It's just fucking infuruating when you're trying to explain why you need something and she has no conception of what you're talking about.

*beats head bloody against the desk*
It's like they have a phobia of spending money on the internet. Even for the 2 accounts I have at ranchoweb given the current exchange rate it's only like... 12 quid. but they're all. "Twenty WHOLE dollars for just 2MG of space??" *shock gasp horror horror*

"What about our NTL webspace?" they say. Well how in the buggery hell should I know if that works or not. Granny's homepage has vanished and there's nothing ON theirs to test it with. Not to mention that I don't know if it has bandwidth restrictions, and it's highly unlikely that either of them know.

Anyway, besides that, I want somewhere to house my site that isn't Geoshitties.
I live in constant expectation of the day they delete my account for having adult material on my site. I know they'll do it, just because they're petty little shitheads.

My mum's bitching because my brother's webspace costs 200 a year, but that's because he has a business package with foofety options for credit card transactions should he want them. Not that he uses them, cause between you, me and the rest of LJ, they're getting stiffed for services he doesn't need.
But I digress. Bitching about it isn't solving my problem.
I know Eek said I could have some space from the WXFO account, and I AM grateful, but knowing how long the server's been down... :/

Ugck... the world naver makes things easy, does it? And if JR doesn't stop murdering that poor bloody saxophone in the living room I am going to have to kill him...

If all else fails, I could probably host SOME of them on my attbi.com account...though they're supposedly changing the name again, to comcast.com or summat. And we don't know when that's due to happen, so it would mean redoing the mood theme yet AGAIN with the new URLs.

[sigh] No matter how you look at it, it's gonna suck.

Well I've managed to shrink 'em down to all fit in one ranchoweb account to save on cost, so they theme will have to be redone, but at least it's slightly less expensive than it would have been.
